Champagne Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé Brut 2013 Magnum 1,5L

Over the years, Louis Roederer has developed a method for producing its rosé champagnes that is unique in Champagne. Known in the House as “infusion”, it extracts the juiciness and ripeness of the Pinots Noirs, while preserving their freshness. A few Chardonnay juices are poured into a Pinot Noir maceration, to ferment together and integrate perfectly. The dosage is 8 g/l.

A restrained bouquet of rare elegance. The subtle, evanescent aromas come in the form of delicate perfumes, so intertwined and complex that it’s hard to describe them. It’s an invitation to take the time necessary to let yourself be invaded by this wine, which reveals itself at its own pace. It’s a master of time! Release of fine, fresh and precise acidic notes: citrus zest, yuzu, forest fruits, mandarin, raspberry, wild strawberry… followed by toasted nuances and almonds… and finally fresh, vegetal notes of verbena and bergamot… Loose on the palate, enlivened by incredibly fine effervescence: the bubbles lighten the substance and fruity texture. The overriding impression remains one of serenity, the delicacy of fresh fruit and the strength of the acidic freshness of chalk. The finish reveals a magnificent, evanescent allongevity.

MILLESIME
2012 was one of the most difficult and delicate years ever encountered in Champagne. Difficulty often gives birth to great things… The low yields, the result of climatic hazards, combined with these late-season continental conditions, enabled us to reach a rare and historic level of ripeness, giving birth to rich, full-bodied and structured wines, worthy of Champagne’s greatest vintages.
