Pomerol
Among the rarest and most sought-after wines in the world, Le Pin holds a unique place in the world of Pomerol. This small estate, which has become legendary in just a few decades, is renowned for producing wines of exceptional concentration, always balanced by remarkable finesse and precision.
Situated on a privileged terroir in Pomerol, the Le Pin vineyard covers a very small area, which explains the estate’s extremely limited production. Composed primarily of Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, the vineyard benefits from clay and gravel soils particularly well suited to expressing the character of these varieties.
The 2011 vintage reveals an elegant and complex style, with aromas of ripe dark fruit, plum, violet and spices, complemented by subtle oaky notes. On the palate, the texture is velvety and deep, with silky tannins, beautiful freshness and a long, refined finish.
A true collector’s wine, Le Pin 2011 perfectly illustrates the unique character of the great Pomerols: rarity, depth, sensuality and precision. A bottle for enthusiasts seeking a truly exceptional Bordeaux experience.
Located in Pomerol, Le Pin is one of the most legendary and exclusive estates in Bordeaux. Created in 1979 when Jacques Thienpont acquired a small property of barely one hectare, Le Pin quickly established itself among the most sought-after wines in the world, despite its tiny size and extremely limited production.
Today, the vineyard covers approximately 2.7 hectares, on a remarkable terroir composed mainly of clay and gravel. The estate takes its name from the umbrella pine that once stood at the heart of the property. This unique parcel benefits from a particularly favourable exposure, providing Merlot with ideal conditions to reach full maturity while retaining freshness and elegance.
Le Pin is produced primarily from Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, depending on the vintage. Vinification and ageing are carried out with the utmost care, focusing on precision, purity of fruit and the silky texture that defines the estate’s style.
With its extremely limited annual production, Le Pin has become one of the most exclusive wines of Pomerol. Its rarity, exceptional terroir and instantly recognisable style have made it a true icon of Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
Le Pin embodies a unique vision of Pomerol: a rare, profound and sensual wine in which the richness of Merlot is expressed with remarkable finesse and elegance.
