Le Pin 2017 is one of the rarest and most exclusive wines of Pomerol. Produced from the Thienpont family’s tiny vineyard, this vintage expresses the unique character of Le Pin’s terroir with remarkable finesse and precision.
The nose reveals beautiful complexity, with aromas of ripe red and black fruit, plum, violet, truffle and delicate spices. On the palate, the texture is silky and elegant, supported by fine tannins and remarkable freshness. This vintage places greater emphasis on finesse, precision and balance than on power.
The finish is long, fresh and persistent, with impressive aromatic depth and great elegance.
After several years in bottle, Le Pin 2017 is beginning to reveal its full complexity, while still offering excellent potential for further development.
A rare and refined Pomerol, where finesse, freshness, depth and elegance come together with remarkable precision.
Located in the heart of Pomerol, Château Le Pin is one of Bordeaux’s most legendary and exclusive estates. Its modern history began in 1979, when Jacques Thienpont, a Belgian wine merchant from a renowned winemaking family, acquired a small property of barely one hectare.
The estate now covers approximately 2.7 hectares, situated on an exceptional Pomerol terroir composed notably of gravel and iron-rich clay. This unique terroir, combined with very low yields, produces grapes of remarkable concentration, freshness and finesse.
The vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Each plot is meticulously tended, while the winemaking is carried out with the utmost care to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.
Over just a few decades, Le Pin has established itself as one of the world’s most sought-after great wines. Its extremely limited production makes it exceptionally rare and highly prized by collectors and serious Bordeaux enthusiasts.
An extraordinary estate that has become a true icon of Pomerol, where the rarity of the terroir, the precision of the craftsmanship and the vision of the Thienpont family give rise to wines of exceptional depth, elegance and longevity.
