Le Pin 2021 is one of the rarest and most sought-after wines of Pomerol. Produced in extremely limited quantities from the Thienpont family’s tiny vineyard, it offers an expression of Merlot defined by remarkable precision and finesse.

The 2021 vintage stands out for its freshness, elegance and aromatic purity. The nose reveals notes of black and red fruit, violet and fresh plum, complemented by delicate spicy and oak nuances. On the palate, the texture is silky and refined, with exceptionally fine tannins and beautiful tension. The wine places greater emphasis on finesse and freshness than on power, with a long, precise and particularly elegant finish.

Thanks to its remarkable balance, Le Pin 2021 offers excellent ageing potential and will gradually gain further complexity over the decades.

The Estate – Le Pin

Located in the heart of Pomerol, Château Le Pin is one of Bordeaux’s most legendary and exclusive estates. Its modern history began in 1979, when Jacques Thienpont, a Belgian wine merchant from a renowned winemaking family, acquired a small property of barely one hectare.

The estate now covers approximately 2.7 hectares, situated on an exceptional Pomerol terroir composed notably of gravel and iron-rich clay. This unique terroir, combined with very low yields, produces grapes of remarkable concentration, freshness and finesse.

The vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Each plot is meticulously tended, while the winemaking is carried out with the utmost care to preserve the purity of the fruit and the expression of the terroir.

Over just a few decades, Le Pin has established itself as one of the world’s most sought-after great wines. Its extremely limited production makes it exceptionally rare and highly prized by collectors and serious Bordeaux enthusiasts.
