The Estate – Le Pin

Located in the heart of Pomerol, Château Le Pin is one of Bordeaux’s most legendary and exclusive estates. Its modern history began in 1979, when Jacques Thienpont, a Belgian wine merchant from a renowned wine family, acquired a small property of barely one hectare.

Since then, Le Pin has established itself as one of the world’s most sought-after great wines, despite its extremely limited production. The vineyard now covers approximately 2.7 hectares, situated on an exceptional Pomerol terroir composed notably of gravel and iron-rich clay soils.

The estate is planted predominantly with Merlot, complemented by a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. Very low yields, meticulous vineyard management and parcel-by-parcel vinification produce a wine of remarkable concentration and precision.

With its extremely limited annual production, Le Pin has become a true benchmark of fine Bordeaux winemaking, sought after by collectors and wine enthusiasts around the world. An extraordinary estate where the rarity of the terroir and the precision of the craftsmanship give rise to wines of exceptional depth, elegance and longevity.
