Pomerol
Located in one of the finest sectors of the Pomerol plateau, Château Petit-Village 2025 elegantly illustrates the finesse and depth that define the great wines of this iconic Right Bank appellation. This vintage stands out for its remarkable balance, silky texture, and refined expression of fruit.
Mainly made from Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a smaller proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend reveals an intense and harmonious bouquet of ripe black fruits such as black cherry, blackberry, and plum. Delicate notes of violet, truffle, cocoa, and sweet spices further enrich a complex and elegant aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its smoothness and depth. The tannins are fine and perfectly integrated, supporting a generous structure without ever weighing it down. The natural freshness of the terroir brings balance and tension, giving the wine precision and energy.
Oak ageing, carefully managed, supports the structure without dominating the fruit, instead highlighting the purity and nobility of the Pomerol terroir. The finish is long, silky, and persistent, marked by notes of black fruit, fine chocolate, and a subtle mineral touch.
Elegant, refined, and deeply expressive, Château Petit-Village 2025 confirms its status among the benchmarks of Pomerol. It can be enjoyed after a few years of cellaring, but also offers excellent ageing potential, gradually revealing the full complexity and depth of its exceptional terroir.
Located in the heart of the prestigious Pomerol plateau, Château Petit-Village enjoys an exceptional position in the immediate vicinity of some of the appellation’s most renowned names. The estate extends over a single, contiguous vineyard block, a rare asset in Pomerol, allowing for a precise and coherent interpretation of its terroir.
The property is now managed by the Moulin family, who are also involved in several well-known Bordeaux wine estates. Under their guidance, the château has undergone significant modernisation, combining respect for heritage with technical innovation in order to fully reveal the potential of its soils.
The vineyard covers approximately 10 hectares and is rooted in a typical Pomerol terroir composed of gravel, clay, and subsoils rich in iron (“crasse de fer”). This geological combination gives the wines their signature style: a balance of power, depth, and refinement, with a particularly silky texture.
The vineyard is mainly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are cultivated with great precision under an environmentally conscious approach aimed at preserving soil balance and grape quality.
Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis to respect the diversity of micro-terroirs. Ageing in carefully managed French oak barrels refines the wine’s structure while preserving the purity of the fruit and the identity of the Pomerol terroir.
Château Petit-Village is now established as an up-and-coming reference of the appellation, producing elegant and harmonious wines that finely express the richness of their terroir. Combining depth, generosity, and ageing potential, the estate perfectly embodies the refined spirit of great Pomerol wines.
