Vieux Plateau Certan 2025 – Pomerol

Originating from the prestigious Pomerol appellation, Vieux Plateau Certan 2025 expresses the richness and depth characteristic of this great terroir on Bordeaux’s Right Bank.

This wine opens with an intense bouquet of ripe black fruits, black cherry, and delicately spicy notes. With aeration, subtle hints of truffle, cocoa, and finely integrated oak emerge.

On the palate, the attack is full and velvety, supported by excellent concentration and silky tannins. The balance between power, roundness, and freshness creates a harmonious structure, leading to a long and elegant finish.

A generous and refined Pomerol with strong ageing potential, ideal to pair with fine meats, game, or slow-cooked dishes.

The Estate – Vieux Château Certan

Vieux Château Certan is one of the most iconic and historic estates in Pomerol. Located on the central plateau of the appellation, it stands among the key references of the Right Bank of Bordeaux, renowned for the consistency and finesse of its wines.

The vineyard extends over approximately 14 hectares in a single block, planted on an exceptional terroir combining deep clay, gravel, and iron-rich sands. This diversity of soils allows for a highly complete and complex expression of the wine, blending power, elegance, and precision.

The vineyard is typically planted for top Pomerol estates, dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter adding structure and additional ageing potential. Harvesting is carried out with great precision to select only perfectly ripe grapes.

Vinification follows a parcel-by-parcel and highly precise approach, followed by ageing in oak barrels that refines the structure without ever masking the expression of the terroir.

Today, Vieux Château Certan is regarded as one of the greatest wines of Pomerol, combining tradition, elegance, and depth, in a style that is both classic and remarkably pure.
