Owned by the Louis Roederer house since 1995, Château de Pez is a historic estate in Saint-Estèphe, deeply rooted in Bordeaux tradition. Founded in the 15th century, this vineyard is one of the oldest in the appellation, spanning 35 hectares of ideal wine-growing land. Overlooking the rolling hills of Saint-Estèphe, the château benefits from gravel and clay-limestone soils, which give its wines remarkable depth and structure.
The vineyard is planted with 47% cabernet sauvignon, 44% merlot, 6% cabernet franc, and 3% petit verdot, a balanced blend that perfectly embodies the typical style of Saint-Estèphe. Each grape variety is vinified with care to bring out its unique qualities: cabernet sauvignon for structure and aging potential, merlot for roundness and fruit, and cabernet franc and petit verdot to add complexity with notes of spice and flowers.
