Grand cru classé de Pessac-Léognan, Château Malartic Lagravière offers us a red wine that blends Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot in almost equal proportions, complemented by a little Cabernet-Franc. All are carefully cultivated according to HVE 3-certified principles.
These varieties benefit from the influence of the dry, clayey Quaternary Günzian gravel soil, which rests on a subsoil of limestone and clay veins. Yields reach 26 hectolitres and are obtained from severely sorted hand-picked grapes. Vinification takes place in small, truncated-cone-shaped wooden vats and temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.
The wine is aged on its fine lees in French oak barrels (65% new wood) for 18 months.
