A young, clear, easily approachable olfactory expression, with a pleasant fruitiness of red berries, bilberry, morello cherry, raspberry, hawthorn blossom, undergrowth and blond tobacco leaf, melted and harmonious.
On the palate, the wine is well-balanced, elegant, juicy and easy to drink, with a good presence of tannins that give it staying power and fullness of flavor, and a pleasantly refreshing, thirst-quenching finish.

Drink young or within two years at between 14 and 16°.
An approachable wine that’s easy to drink with canaille dishes, sausages, charcuterie, ham, grilled meats, grilled fish, smoked fish, white meats, can also accompany grilled fish, swimming fish…
Produced from the famous Burgundy grape variety, this light, pleasant red wine is typical of Alsace. Fruity and supple, it goes well with cold meats, red meats and cheeses.

Description

Produced by the HUGEL family, 12 generations of uninterrupted winemaking tradition since 1639. Alsace is the driest wine region in France with a cool and long growing season resulting in unique dry wines of great finesse and intensity.

Renowned for its white wines, Alsace does not produce less famous reds. Moreover, in the Middle Ages, the latter were in the majority. After having almost disappeared, Pinot Noir was reintroduced to produce wines of great finesse. It now represents 8% of the total production of Alsace and with global warming the wines are steadily gaining in density.

Delicate and jagged, Pinot Noir from Alsace is fleshy, deep and crunchy with red fruits when young (blackcurrant and raspberry in particular). During their ageing, they take on shades of undergrowth and animal, they are eaten with charcuterie, red meat and cheese.
