Paul Jaboulet Aîné – Crozes Hermitage – “Les Jalets” 2022

A must-have wine from the Northern Rhône Valley 100% Syrah

Crozes Hermitage “Les Jalets” comes from a 6-hectare parcel named “Les Jalets”, which takes its name from the Old French “galets” (pebbles) with which the soil is covered, identical to those found on the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir. The nose is delicate, with aromas of red berries such as raspberry and wild strawberry, accompanied by spicy notes of licorice. The fresh, supple attack is marked by aromas of raspberry and redcurrant. Subtle woody notes carry through to the finish.

Cuvée Crozes Hermitage “Les Jalets” takes its name from Old French, where “jalets” means “pebbles”. These round pebbles, shaped by Alpine glaciers, were transported some 30,000 years ago to the terraces of Crozes Hermitage by powerful rivers. To best express the qualities of this historic terroir, we opted for organic viticulture, revealing the exceptional character of these vines.

Aging: 50% in truncated oak vats, 25% in French oak barrels and 25% in stainless steel vats for 12 months.
