Coffret Disznókő vertical collection N°1 Tokaji 2015-2016-2017

History Domaine de Disznókő “Le Rocher du Sanglier” owes its name to a large stone at the foot of the white pavilion overlooking the estate, which, according to the locals, resembles a wild boar. The property, classified “Premier Cru” in 1732 belonged to several noble families in the 17th century. In the early 19th century, Menyhért Lónyay built the Maison Jaune, the estate’s wine storehouse. In 1992, the property was acquired by the AXA Millésimes Group. Since then, the estate has been completely restructured thanks to major investments. Tokaj wines returned to their glorious past. Part of the vineyard was replanted with Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes. An ageing cellar has been dug into the rock next to the new winemaking buildings.

Recognized as one of the three most outstanding sites for the production of Aszu wines in Tokaj, the Disznoko estate covers 104 hectares in a single block. The south- and southwest-facing slopes, planted with local Furmint, Harslevelu and Zéta grape varieties, dominate the plain. Morning mists and warm autumn breezes guarantee optimal conditions for the development of noble rot. Botrytis develops by concentrating natural sugars, aromas and acids in the grapes. The wines owe their ardor to the mineral-rich volcanic soil, rhyolitic tuff and clay soils.
