Tasting by Serge Dubs, Best Sommelier of the World 1989:
Shimmering colour, with good lemon yellow intensity with pistachio green, linden leaf reflections, shiny and lively, as well as a pretty, moderately tight, supple leg.
Correct bouquet with an expression without exuberance of the Gewurztraminer grape variety which will delight lovers of this flattering, aromatic and fragrant grape variety just enough to be attracted by its aromas of fresh roses, freesia, lily, passion fruit, lychee, mango, cardamom and orange blossom in a harmonious and melted whole.
In the mouth we are pleasantly surprised by a first impression of a dry wine immediately completed by a beautiful generosity, velvety, fleshy and quite juicy which explodes in the finish in a multitude of aromas.
Balance, smoothness, suppleness, tenderness and refinement make us fall for this delicious wine that breathes Alsace. Authentic, it should be drunk now and within 5 years
with game terrines, foie gras, strong cheese, Munster, maroilles, with tasty, slightly spicy, Chinese, Moroccan, Indian cuisine or desserts such as fruit cakes.
I would also like it as an aperitif, to be served at 8°.
