Aile d’Argent 2023 is the white wine produced by the prestigious Château Mouton Rothschild, a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac. This rare cuvée represents the white expression of the estate and is produced in limited quantities, highly sought after for its finesse and balance.
The wine comes from vineyards planted on the deep gravel soils typical of Pauillac, resting on clay-limestone subsoils. These terroirs provide freshness, tension, and aromatic precision, essential for crafting a great white Bordeaux wine.
The blend is based mainly on Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Sémillon, bringing both vibrancy, structure, and roundness. The style focuses on pure fruit expression and an elegant interpretation of the Médoc terroir, rather than aromatic exuberance.
The 2023 vintage is marked by beautiful freshness and balanced ripeness. The nose reveals aromas of citrus fruits, white flowers, and white-fleshed fruits, along with subtle exotic and mineral notes.
On the palate, the wine is precise, tense, and refined, with great energy and a long finish defined by a saline freshness and remarkable purity.
Aile d’Argent 2023 confirms its status as a great white Bordeaux wine for ageing, combining elegance, complexity, and strong ageing potential over several years.
Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the most prestigious wine estates in the world and a leading name in Bordeaux. Located in Pauillac, on the left bank of the Médoc, it is one of the Premiers Grands Crus Classés of 1855 and is renowned for its powerful, refined, and highly distinctive style.
The estate has belonged to the Rothschild family since 1853 and was elevated to Premier Grand Cru Classé status in 1973. It covers an exceptional terroir of deep gravel soils, resting on limestone and clay subsoils, providing ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon cultivation.
The vineyard is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This blend produces structured, rich wines with outstanding ageing potential.
The estate is also famous for its strong connection to art, with each vintage label designed by a renowned contemporary artist, further enhancing its iconic status.
Alongside its great red wines, the estate produces in very limited quantities the white wine Aile d’Argent, a rare expression of the Pauillac terroir based on Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
Today, Château Mouton Rothschild is considered a benchmark of Bordeaux, combining power, complexity, precision, and artistic prestige.
