Mas de Daumas Gassac is one of the most emblematic estates in the Languedoc. Located in Aniane, in the heart of the Gassac valley, it was founded in the 1970s by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, on what was then a wild and untouched site.

The estate is based on a rare terroir, composed of deep glacial gravel soils, and benefits from a cool microclimate influenced by the Larzac plateau and underground cold-water springs. This natural setting allows for slow grape ripening, resulting in balanced and complex wines.

From the outset, Mas de Daumas Gassac distinguished itself through a counter-current approach: planting ancient, non-cloned grape varieties, maintaining low yields, and rejecting standard production practices. The first vintage was produced in 1978 under the guidance of oenologist Émile Peynaud, helping to reveal the potential of Languedoc for long-ageing wines.

Today, the estate is run by the Guibert family, who continue this demanding philosophy, producing wines that are internationally recognised and widely regarded as a benchmark of the Languedoc region.
