Château Doisy Daëne 2023
Located in the heart of the Barsac appellation, Château Doisy Daëne is one of Bordeaux’s benchmark producers of sweet wines. Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in 1855, the estate is renowned for crafting wines of remarkable finesse, where freshness and aromatic intensity combine with elegance.
The 2023 vintage reveals a refined bouquet of exotic fruits, apricot, yellow peach, and candied citrus, complemented by delicate notes of white flowers, honey, and a subtle hint of vanilla. The wine impresses with its purity and perfect balance.
On the palate, the sweetness is generous yet never excessive, supported by the vibrant freshness that is characteristic of the Barsac terroir. This lively tension brings precision and extends the finish with flavours of candied fruit, citrus zest, and sweet spices.
A harmonious and elegant Barsac that is already delightful for its expressive aromatics, while offering excellent ageing potential over the coming decades.
Château Doisy Daëne
Located on the limestone plateau of Barsac, in the heart of the Sauternes region, Château Doisy Daëne is one of the appellation’s historic estates. Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in the 1855 Classification, the estate is renowned for the elegance and freshness of its sweet wines.
The vineyard is planted on gravel soils over a limestone subsoil, a terroir that gives Barsac wines their distinctive freshness, tension, and finesse. The vines are predominantly planted with Sémillon, complemented by Sauvignon Blanc and a small proportion of Muscadelle.
The estate has been managed by the Dubourdieu family for several generations. Denis Dubourdieu played a major role in establishing its international reputation through his expertise in viticulture and oenology. Today, the family continues this pursuit of precision by combining meticulous vineyard management with careful winemaking.
The wines of Château Doisy Daëne are distinguished by their balance of richness and freshness, offering a pure expression of the Barsac terroir and outstanding ageing potential.
