Located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, Mazis-Chambertin is one of the most prestigious Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin. The wine produced by the Domaine Faiveley perfectly illustrates the nobility and power of this exceptional terroir.
The 2020 vintage benefited from favourable weather conditions in Burgundy, marked by excellent grape ripeness and well-controlled yields. The wine shows great concentration while maintaining freshness and remarkable aromatic precision.
Made exclusively from Pinot Noir, this Grand Cru reveals a complex nose of red and black fruits, with aromas of cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of undergrowth, fine spices, violet and a subtle smoky touch.
On the palate, Mazis-Chambertin 2020 stands out for its deep structure, fine yet firm tannins and silky texture. The balance between power and elegance is remarkable, supported by a beautiful mineral tension and a long finish.
A true great ageing wine, this Mazis-Chambertin has outstanding development potential and fully embodies the complexity and grandeur of Burgundy’s Grand Crus.
Founded in 1825, the Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most renowned wine houses. Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, it has established itself over generations as a major player in both the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, thanks to its extensive vineyard holdings and unwavering commitment to quality.
Today, the estate is led by the seventh generation of the Faiveley family and owns one of the largest vineyard portfolios in Burgundy, with parcels spread across numerous prestigious appellations, including several Grand Crus and Premier Crus.
The vineyards are primarily planted with Pinot Noir for red wines and Chardonnay for white wines. The diverse soils of Burgundy, composed of limestone and marl, allow for a highly precise expression of terroir, parcel by parcel.
The estate follows a demanding viticultural approach and a strict parcel-based philosophy. Winemaking is adapted to each climat to preserve the typicity of the terroirs and best express the finesse and complexity of the wines.
The wines of the Domaine Faiveley are distinguished by their structure, elegance and ageing potential. They reflect both the richness of Burgundy’s great terroirs and the historic expertise of an iconic wine house from the region.
