CHÂTEAU FIGEAC 2025 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé: 100/100 pts
Château Figeac is one of the most emblematic estates in Saint-Émilion and among the rare properties that have retained a strong identity shaped by grape varieties more traditionally associated with the Left Bank, with a dominant presence of Cabernet. Classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé A, the estate embodies elegance, precision, and the remarkable longevity of the great wines of Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
The vineyard extends over an exceptional terroir of deep gravel soils mixed with sand and clay, ensuring optimal drainage and slow, even ripening of the grapes. This geological diversity directly contributes to the finesse and aromatic complexity of the wines.
The 2025 vintage stands out for its remarkable balance and outstanding purity of expression. The nose reveals refined aromas of fresh black fruits, cassis, cherry, and blackberry, along with floral notes, graphite, cedar, and delicate spices.
On the palate, the attack is straight, precise, and perfectly structured. The wine is dense yet airy, supported by fine tannins and remarkable freshness. The balance between controlled power, elegance, and aromatic tension gives the wine great distinction.
The finish is long, harmonious, and highly precise, marked by a mineral and subtly oaked signature typical of great Figeac wines.
Figeac 2025 follows in the lineage of the estate’s greatest vintages: a refined, deep, and remarkably elegant wine with outstanding ageing potential.
The Estate – Château Figeac
Château Figeac is one of the most prestigious and historic estates in Saint-Émilion. Classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé A, it is one of the emblematic properties of Bordeaux’s Right Bank and stands out for a unique style strongly influenced by grape varieties traditionally associated with the Left Bank.
The vineyard extends over approximately 40 hectares in a single block, situated on an exceptional terroir composed of three ridges of deep gravel mixed with sand and clay. This geological diversity allows for a highly complete expression of the wine, combining finesse, structure, and remarkable aromatic complexity.
The grape variety mix is unusual for Saint-Émilion, with a high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, complemented by Merlot. This identity gives Figeac wines a fresher, more linear, and more elegant signature than most other wines in the appellation.
Winemaking is carried out with meticulous parcel-by-parcel precision in order to preserve the expression of each terroir. Ageing in oak barrels brings structure, finesse, and ageing potential, while never masking the purity of the fruit.
Today, Château Figeac is recognized as one of the greatest wines of Bordeaux, combining elegance, freshness, depth, and exceptional ageing capacity.
