Located on the renowned limestone plateau and south-eastern slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château Pavie stands among the most prestigious estates in Bordeaux. Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé A, the estate benefits from an exceptional terroir combining limestone, clay and gravelly soils, giving its wines remarkable depth, complexity and ageing potential.
The 2025 vintage is impressive for its concentration and intensity while retaining outstanding freshness. The bouquet reveals deep aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry, complemented by notes of violet, liquorice, fine spices and graphite.
On the palate, the wine is rich, dense and impeccably structured. The tannins are powerful yet exceptionally refined, providing a remarkable balance between richness, precision and elegance. The finish is long and persistent, marked by outstanding aromatic purity and exceptional depth.
This vintage perfectly embodies the Château Pavie style: controlled power, complexity and refinement. A truly great wine for ageing, destined to evolve majestically over several decades.
Located on the south-eastern slopes of Saint-Émilion, Château Pavie is one of the most prestigious estates in Bordeaux. Its history dates back several centuries, but it is over the past few decades that the château has firmly established itself among the world’s wine elite through a relentless pursuit of excellence and significant investments in both the vineyard and winemaking facilities.
The vineyard covers approximately 42 hectares in a single, contiguous block, a rarity in Saint-Émilion. It benefits from an exceptional terroir composed of three distinct geological layers: the limestone plateau, the clay-limestone slopes, and the sandier clay soils at the foot of the hillside. This geological diversity gives the wines remarkable depth, complexity and ageing potential.
The vineyard is predominantly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields are carefully controlled to maximise concentration and grape quality. Each parcel is vinified separately in order to preserve the unique identity of every terroir before the final blend is crafted.
Under the leadership of the Perse family, owners of the estate since 1998, Château Pavie has undergone a spectacular transformation, culminating in its promotion to the rank of Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Émilion. Today, the château is renowned for producing wines of exceptional intensity, combining power, precision, depth and elegance, and stands among the benchmark estates of Bordeaux.
