Two icons, two continents, one truly unique cuvée! 🍷

When Penfolds Grange and La Chapelle by Jaboulet, two legendary names in the world of Syrah and Shiraz, decided to bring their expertise together, the result was bound to be extraordinary. This exceptional cuvée was born from the meeting of Caroline Frey, at the helm of Domaine de la Chapelle, and Peter Gago, Penfolds’ legendary winemaker.

The 2021 vintage brings together equal parts Syrah from Hermitage and Shiraz from South Australia, sourced notably from Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley. A fascinating encounter between the finesse and minerality of the Northern Rhône and the richness, depth and power of Australian Shiraz.

On the palate, the wine impresses with its depth, remarkably fine tannins and outstanding balance. Black fruit, violet, spices, graphite and delicate smoky notes create an exceptionally complex aromatic profile, carried by an extraordinarily long finish.

A historic and ultra-exclusive cuvée, a truly remarkable meeting between two legends of the wine world.

Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné, an iconic name in Hermitage since 1834, and Penfolds, one of Australia’s great wine houses, have brought their expertise together to create Grange La Chapelle. Under the guidance of Caroline Frey and Peter Gago, this cuvée brings together two expressions of the same grape variety: Syrah from Hermitage and Australian Shiraz.

A rare creation that celebrates terroir, craftsmanship and the meeting of two great wine traditions.
