Located on the left bank of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Haut-Bailly is one of the benchmark estates of the Graves region. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, the estate is renowned for producing wines of great elegance, combining aromatic finesse, depth and remarkable balance.
The 2020 vintage benefited from particularly favourable weather conditions, allowing the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. The wine expresses the precision of Haut-Bailly’s terroir, with a very clear aromatic definition and a harmonious overall profile.
The blend is mainly based on Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and small proportions of Cabernet Franc. The nose opens with aromas of black fruits, cherry and violet, enriched by subtle notes of cedar, sweet spices and delicate smokiness.
On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its silky texture, fine and perfectly integrated tannins, and a freshness that structures the whole. The finish is long, elegant and persistent.
Already appealing in its youth, Château Haut-Bailly 2020 also offers excellent ageing potential. A great Pessac-Léognan wine that combines refinement, precision and depth.
Located on the left bank of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Haut-Bailly is one of the most emblematic estates of the Graves region. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves, it is renowned for producing wines of great finesse, combining elegance, depth and balance.
The estate’s history dates back to the 17th century and has been shaped over time by several passionate families who have contributed to building its international reputation. Today, Haut-Bailly is considered one of Bordeaux’s most reliable estates, consistently praised for the quality and consistency of its wines.
The vineyard covers approximately 30 hectares, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. The vines grow on typical Graves soils of sandy and gravelly composition, providing ideal conditions for wines that are both structured and elegant.
Since its acquisition by the Wilmers family, the estate has continued to pursue precise work both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Farming practices are focused on respect for living ecosystems and a faithful expression of the terroir, with particular attention paid to each individual parcel.
The wines of Château Haut-Bailly are distinguished by their refinement, silky texture, remarkable balance and their ability to evolve gracefully over many years.
