CHÂTEAU HAUT-BRION 2025 – Pessac-Léognan: 100 /100 Pts
Château Haut-Brion ranks among the greatest names in Bordeaux and stands as one of the historic benchmarks of the 1855 First Growth classification. Located in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, the estate is built on a unique terroir of deep gravel soils mixed with sand and clay, producing wines of exceptional complexity and depth.
The 2025 vintage is defined by remarkable aromatic precision and outstanding elegance. The nose opens with intense notes of black fruits, blackcurrant and cherry, complemented by hints of cedar, fine tobacco, cocoa, and subtle smoky nuances that are characteristic of the estate’s signature style.
On the palate, the attack is broad and perfectly structured. The texture is dense yet refined, supported by highly polished tannins and seamlessly integrated freshness. The balance between power, elegance, and precision is exceptional, a hallmark of great Haut-Brion wines.
The finish is long, deep, and highly persistent, revealing a beautifully controlled mineral and oak-driven complexity. The 2025 vintage continues the legacy of the estate’s greatest wines, with outstanding ageing potential over several decades.
The Estate – Château Haut-Brion
Château Haut-Brion is one of the oldest and most prestigious estates in Bordeaux, and one of the rare properties classified as a First Growth in the 1855 classification located outside the Médoc. Situated in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, it is widely regarded as a benchmark of the Left Bank.
The vineyard extends over approximately 50 hectares, resting on an exceptional terroir of deep gravel mixed with sand and clay. This unique composition promotes even ripening and gives the wines a distinctive signature combining power, finesse, and aromatic complexity.
The vineyard is mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Each parcel is vinified separately to preserve the precision and identity of every terroir. Ageing takes place in carefully selected oak barrels under strict standards, contributing to the wine’s structure and remarkable longevity.
Today, Château Haut-Brion is internationally recognized for producing wines of exceptional depth and elegance, combining richness, balance, and outstanding ageing potential, ranking among the greatest wines in the world.
