Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
Among the oldest estates in Saint-Émilion, Château Larmande 2025 elegantly embodies the tradition and historic expertise of this iconic Right Bank appellation. This vintage stands out for its balance, aromatic precision, and refined fruit expression, in a style that is both classic and sophisticated.
Mainly composed of Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend reveals an expressive bouquet of red and black fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and blackberry. Delicate notes of violet, sweet spices, and liquorice further enrich a harmonious and appealing aromatic profile.
On the palate, the wine is defined by its smooth, silky texture. The tannins are fine and well integrated, providing an elegant structure without excess weight. The natural freshness of the Saint-Émilion terroir brings balance and tension, giving the wine energy and precision.
Oak ageing, discreet and well controlled, supports the whole without masking the purity of the fruit, allowing the full character of the terroir to shine through. The finish is elegant, persistent, and marked by fruity and lightly spicy notes.
Approachable in its youth while offering good ageing potential, Château Larmande 2025 perfectly reflects the style of great Saint-Émilion wines: elegance, harmony, and aromatic finesse.
Located on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, Château Larmande is among the oldest historic estates of the appellation, with origins dating back to the 18th century. Classified as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, the château belongs to the long tradition of great Right Bank Bordeaux estates, where history and terroir have been closely intertwined for centuries.
The vineyard covers approximately 20 hectares in a single, contiguous block, benefiting from a varied terroir composed of clay-limestone and clay-sandy soils typical of Saint-Émilion. This geological diversity allows the production of wines that combine finesse, structure, and elegance, with a consistently precise and well-balanced aromatic expression.
The vineyard is mainly planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. This typical Right Bank blend produces wines that are supple, fruit-driven, and capable of good ageing potential.
The estate has benefited from significant investments aimed at modernising its winemaking facilities while respecting its historic identity. Parcel-by-parcel vinification helps preserve the individuality of each terroir, while ageing in French oak barrels adds complexity and finesse without overshadowing the expression of the fruit.
Château Larmande is now recognised for producing harmonious and approachable wines that faithfully reflect the classic style of Saint-Émilion. Combining tradition, consistency, and elegance, the estate holds a solid position among the historic references of the appellation.
