Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is one of the most prestigious and iconic estates in the Médoc. Located at the entrance to the Pauillac appellation, in close proximity to Château Latour, this Second Growth of the 1855 Classification benefits from an exceptional terroir that has enabled it to produce some of Bordeaux’s most sought-after wines for more than two centuries.
The estate’s history dates back to the late 17th century with the creation of the vast Pichon Longueville property. Following family successions, the estate was divided during the 19th century, giving rise to Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande. Its famous Renaissance-style château, built in 1840, is now one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Bordeaux vineyard.
Since 2007, the estate has been owned by the Rouzaud family, who also own Louis Roederer. Significant investments have enabled the château to continue its pursuit of excellence while strengthening environmentally responsible practices and increasing precision in vineyard management.
The vineyard covers nearly 90 hectares across some of Pauillac’s finest deep gravel terroirs. The plantings are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This diversity contributes to the estate’s unique signature, renowned for its elegance, aromatic finesse, and silky texture, often compared to the great wines of Margaux while retaining the depth and structure characteristic of Pauillac.
Recognized worldwide, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande produces wines of remarkable longevity, combining power, balance, and refinement. Each vintage reflects the excellence of an estate where tradition, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to quality come together to create one of Bordeaux’s most celebrated names.
