You will find in this Médoc the 4 traditional grape varieties of Bordeaux red wines, with a small half of Cabernet Sauvignon, a good third of Merlot as well as Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines of Château Lousteauneuf have an average age of 25 years in 2010 and deliver 40 to 45 hectoliters per hectare. They occupy beautiful gravelly hilltops which rest on alios in the basement.
After mechanical harvesting, the grapes undergo a carbonic maceration then a temperature-controlled vinification, for a good extraction of the fruit and the color. The aging is then double, with 70% French oak barrels and 30% vats.
The result is a very aromatic, airy, complex wine with a beautiful tannic finesse.
