Prunotto – Mompertone – Monferatto Rosso 2022

Mompertone is made from 60% Barbera and 40% Syrah, from the magnificent Calliano vineyard. Located 300 meters above the sea, it dominates the hills surrounding Basso Monferrato. The wine is partially aged in barrels for about 10 months, and will remain in the bottle for another 6 months before being marketed. This Mompertone has a ruby color edged with purple and offers a bouquet of rich plums and cherries. This beautiful fruitiness is punctuated with notes of sweet spices and coffee, brought by the ageing. The palate is silky, while offering a nice power and a fleshy substance. The tannins are fine and bring structure and capacity to the wine.
