Mas de Daumas Gassac is one of the most emblematic estates in the Languedoc. Located in Aniane, in the heart of the Gassac valley, it was founded in the 1970s by Aimé and Véronique Guibert, on what was then a wild and untouched site.

The estate is based on a rare terroir, composed of deep glacial gravel soils, and benefits from a cool microclimate thanks to influences from the Larzac plateau and underground cold-water springs. This natural setting allows for slow grape ripening, producing balanced and complex wines.

From the outset, Mas de Daumas Gassac stood out for its counter-current approach: planting ancient, non-cloned grape varieties, keeping yields low, and rejecting standard production methods. The first vintage was released in 1978 under the guidance of oenologist Émile Peynaud, helping to reveal the potential of Languedoc for age-worthy wines.

Today, the estate is run by the Guibert family, who continue this demanding philosophy, producing wines that are internationally recognised and widely regarded as a benchmark of the Languedoc region.
