Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2022 (1.5 L)
From the historic hills of Chianti Classico, Marchese Antinori 2022 embodies the elegance and tradition of great Tuscan Sangiovese. Produced by the Marchesi Antinori estate, this wine reflects the high standards and craftsmanship of a family that has shaped the history of Italian wine for over six centuries.
The 2022 vintage is defined by a clean and precise aromatic expression. The nose reveals notes of red cherry, sour cherry, and wild berries, alongside floral hints of violet, as well as delicate nuances of sweet spices, blond tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. The ageing process adds subtle complexity without masking the purity of the fruit.
On the palate, the attack is fresh and harmonious. The structure is built on fine yet present tannins, typical of Sangiovese, supported by vibrant freshness that brings tension and balance. The finish is long and elegant, marked by notes of sour cherry, liquorice, and a subtle mineral touch.
A refined Chianti Classico Riserva, both approachable in its youth and offering good ageing potential.
Marchesi Antinori
Founded in 1385, Marchesi Antinori is one of the oldest family-owned wine estates in the world. For more than 26 generations, the Antinori family has been a leading reference in Italian winemaking, particularly in Tuscany, where it has played a major role in elevating both the quality and reputation of its wines.
Chianti Classico is one of the estate’s historic heartlands. The vineyards are located on rolling hills with soils composed of gravel, clay, and limestone schist (galestro and alberese), which are particularly well suited to Sangiovese, the region’s principal grape variety.
The Marchesi Antinori estate encompasses several iconic properties, including Tignanello, Solaia, and Badia a Passignano, all of which have played a key role in the modernization of Tuscan wines.
Today, the group is led by Piero Antinori and his family, maintaining a philosophy based on respect for terroir, precision in winemaking, and a constant pursuit of quality. Antinori wines are globally recognized for their elegance, consistency, and outstanding ageing potential.
