A true emblem of the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Beychevelle ranks among the most prestigious estates of the Médoc. Classified as a Fourth Growth in the famous 1855 Classification, this historic property is renowned for the elegance of its wines, harmoniously combining power, finesse, and consistency.
Located on the banks of the Gironde estuary, the vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir of deep gravel soils that promote optimal grape ripening. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, the vineyard’s composition allows for the production of complex and perfectly balanced wines.
The 2025 vintage beautifully illustrates Beychevelle’s refined style. The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, and violet, accompanied by notes of cedar, graphite, and delicate spices. On the palate, the wine charms with its silky texture, remarkable freshness, and finely structured tannins. The long and precise finish fully expresses the nobility of its terroir.

Château Beychevelle is one of the most iconic estates in the Médoc and a benchmark of the Saint-Julien appellation. Classified as a Fourth Growth in the 1855 Classification, the estate is recognized worldwide for the consistent quality of its wines and for its magnificent château overlooking the Gironde estuary.
The history of Beychevelle dates back to the 17th century and is closely linked to the first Duke of Épernon, Admiral of France. According to legend, ships sailing past the estate lowered their sails as a sign of respect, giving rise to the name “Beychevelle,” derived from the Gascon expression bêcha vêla, meaning “lower the sails.” This tradition is still represented today on the château’s iconic label.
The vineyard covers nearly 90 hectares in a single block, ideally located on some of the finest deep gravel terroirs of Saint-Julien. The perfectly drained soils, combined with the moderating influence of the Gironde estuary, provide ideal conditions for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
Over the years, significant investments have modernized the estate’s technical facilities while preserving its historic identity. Rigorous grape selection, controlled yields, and meticulous attention at every stage of the winemaking process contribute to wines renowned for their balance, elegance, and remarkable consistency.
Château Beychevelle produces refined wines characterized by their silky texture, aromatic finesse, and ability to age gracefully. Each vintage reflects the expertise of an estate where tradition, innovation, and excellence come together to uphold the reputation of one of Saint-Julien’s greatest names.
