Pauillac – Grand Cru Classé
An iconic name within the Pauillac appellation, Château Lynch-Bages 2025 brilliantly confirms its status among the greatest references of the Médoc. This vintage combines power, precision, and elegance in a perfectly controlled style, remaining true to the identity of the estate while beautifully reflecting the character of the vintage.
The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, reveals a complex and intense bouquet where blackcurrant, wild blackberry, black cherry, and violet intertwine with refined notes of cedar, graphite, blond tobacco, and sweet spices. The aromatic expression is remarkable for its purity, depth, and precision.
On the palate, the wine impresses with its dense, velvety texture, supported by noble tannins of exceptional precision. The attack is broad and energetic, driven by remarkable freshness that perfectly balances the richness of the fruit. Flavours of ripe black fruits, liquorice, and cocoa extend seamlessly into a deep, persistent, and beautifully structured finish.
The oak ageing is perfectly integrated, adding complexity and structure without ever overshadowing the expression of the terroir. This harmony between concentration, finesse, and tension gives the wine a remarkable stature and an equilibrium worthy of the château’s greatest vintages.
Powerful, refined, and profoundly authentic, Château Lynch-Bages 2025 is a magnificent illustration of the unique character of Pauillac. While approachable after a few years of cellaring, it possesses above all the potential to evolve gracefully over several decades, gradually revealing the full richness and complexity of this outstanding Médoc terroir.
Located on the famous Bages plateau in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most prestigious and widely recognised estates in the Médoc. Its history dates back to the 18th century, when the Irish Lynch family settled in the region and gave its name to the property. Classified as a Fifth Growth (Cinquième Grand Cru Classé) in the historic 1855 Classification, the château has established itself over time as one of Bordeaux’s most respected and influential estates.
Since 1939, the property has belonged to the Cazes family, who have played a major role in its international success. Through an ambitious vision, continuous investment, and an unwavering commitment to quality, Château Lynch-Bages has earned a worldwide reputation for the consistency and excellence of its wines.
Today, the vineyard covers nearly 100 hectares in a single block, planted on the renowned Garonne gravel ridges of Pauillac. This exceptional terroir, composed of deep gravel soils over limestone and clay subsoils, provides ideal conditions for the expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, the estate’s flagship grape variety. This unique combination allows the production of wines that combine power, structure, freshness, and remarkable ageing potential.
The vineyard is planted predominantly with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Each parcel is carefully monitored and managed to express the full character of its terroir. The estate follows a sustainable and responsible approach to viticulture, with a strong focus on preserving biodiversity and maintaining the natural balance of the vineyard.
In 2020, Château Lynch-Bages inaugurated a spectacular new gravity-flow winery designed by architect Chien Chung Pei. This state-of-the-art facility enables exceptionally precise vinification, fully respecting the identity of each parcel and the quality of the fruit.
Renowned for producing some of Pauillac’s most iconic wines, Château Lynch-Bages embodies a unique style in which power, elegance, and consistency come together in perfect harmony. Appreciated throughout the world, its wines are among the finest ambassadors of the Médoc terroir and offer outstanding ageing potential.
