LÉOVILLE POYFERRÉ 2025 – Saint-Julien – 98-99
Located in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Léoville Poyferré stands among the key references of the Médoc. This classified growth benefits from an exceptional terroir of well-draining Garonne gravel soils, producing wines of great precision and remarkable balance.
The 2025 vintage shows intensity and elegance, driven by a deep concentration of black fruits, along with notes of cedar, sweet spices, and a distinctive graphite touch typical of Saint-Julien. On the palate, the structure is broad and perfectly controlled, with fine yet present tannins, delivering a texture that is both dense and silky.
The overall profile combines power, refinement, and freshness in the classic, refined style of Léoville Poyferré. A great ageing wine, expected to evolve harmoniously over several decades.
Located in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Léoville Poyferré is one of the most prestigious Second Growths of the Médoc. Originating from the historic vast Léoville estate, it dates back to the 18th century and has progressively established itself as one of the leading references on Bordeaux’s Left Bank.
The vineyard spans approximately 80 hectares of deep Garonne gravel soils, providing excellent natural drainage and ideal conditions for optimal ripening of Bordeaux grape varieties. The planting is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, allowing for highly complex blends.
Under the guidance of the Cuvelier family, the estate has undergone significant technical and viticultural investments, further enhancing the precision and consistency of its style. Today, Léoville Poyferré is recognized for producing powerful yet balanced wines, combining aromatic richness, refined structure, and excellent ageing potential, perfectly embodying the elegance of great Saint-Julien wines.
