From the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Morgeot” 2023 by Domaine Faiveley expresses all the richness and precision of great Burgundian Chardonnay. The Morgeot climat, one of the most renowned in Chassagne, produces wines that are both ample, structured, and elegant, with impressive aromatic depth.
The 2023 vintage offers a balanced profile between ripeness and freshness. The nose opens with aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, and peach, complemented by notes of candied lemon, hazelnut, and subtle buttery and lightly brioche-like touches. Oak ageing adds complexity and roundness without overpowering the fruit.
On the palate, the attack is full and silky. The wine is generous in texture but well supported by a mineral backbone that brings freshness and length. The finish is persistent and elegant, marked by white fruits, citrus, and a delicate hint of oak.
Domaine Faiveley
Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s historic wine houses, founded in 1825. The estate owns an exceptional vineyard heritage spanning the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and the Côte Chalonnaise.
The climat Morgeot, located in Chassagne-Montrachet, is one of the most important Premier Crus of the Côte de Beaune. It produces structured, deep Chardonnay wines, combining aromatic richness with mineral tension and offering excellent ageing potential.
The estate’s philosophy is based on precise viticulture, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and ageing tailored to each cuvée, in order to preserve the identity and expression of each terroir.
