Pessac-Léognan – Grand Cru Classé de Graves
Château de Fieuzal Blanc 2025 stands out as a luminous and refined expression of the great white wines of Pessac-Léognan. Sourced from a particularly high-quality gravel terroir, this vintage is defined by its balance, tension, and remarkable aromatic purity.
The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon reveals an elegant and complex bouquet, combining fresh citrus fruits, lemon, pink grapefruit, juicy pear, and subtle exotic fruit notes. Delicate floral hints, along with lightly smoky and subtly oaked nuances, underline the typical identity of the great white wines of Graves.
On the palate, the wine impresses with its vibrant freshness and fine density. The attack is lively, driven by precise acidity that provides structure and energy. The fruit shines with clarity, supported by a silky texture and impressive breadth.
Oak ageing is perfectly integrated, adding complexity and depth with touches of vanilla, hazelnut, and gentle spice, without ever masking the precision of the fruit. The balance between freshness, richness, and tension creates great harmony.
The finish is long, saline, and persistent, marked by a fine minerality and a lemony freshness that extends the tasting experience.
Elegant, precise, and expressive, Château de Fieuzal Blanc 2025 confirms its status as a benchmark among the great white wines of Pessac-Léognan, combining immediate pleasure with excellent ageing potential.
Located in Léognan, south of Bordeaux, Château de Fieuzal is one of the emblematic estates of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Classified as a Grand Cru Classé of Graves in 1959, the château is renowned for the quality and consistency of its red and white wines, which finely express the identity of this exceptional gravel terroir.
The vineyard covers around 80 hectares, a significant portion of which is dedicated to white grape varieties. Deep gravel soils, mixed with clay-limestone subsoils, provide ideal natural drainage and perfect conditions for expressing Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, as well as the estate’s red varieties.
The estate has experienced a new momentum since its acquisition by the Quaresmini family, who have made significant investments in both the vineyards and winemaking facilities. Particular attention is given to precision winemaking, with modern equipment allowing each parcel to be vinified separately in order to fully reveal its character.
The white plantings are mainly composed of Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Sémillon, and occasionally small proportions of Sauvignon Gris depending on the vintage. This diversity allows the production of white wines that are both aromatic, structured, and capable of ageing gracefully.
The estate follows sustainable viticultural practices, with constant focus on preserving soil health and biodiversity. Harvesting is carried out at optimal ripeness to ensure freshness, aromatic intensity, and balance.
Today, Château de Fieuzal is recognised as a solid benchmark in Pessac-Léognan, producing both red and white wines that combine elegance, precision, and complexity, with a style that is both modern and faithful to its historic terroir.
