Pessac-Léognan – Grand Cru Classé de Graves
Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2025 stands out as one of the finest expressions of great white wines from Pessac-Léognan. Originating from an exceptional terroir of deep gravel soils, this vintage masterfully combines freshness, precision, and aromatic complexity in a style that is both elegant and intensely expressive.
The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon reveals a refined bouquet where fresh citrus, pink grapefruit, candied lemon, white peach, and delicate exotic fruits intertwine. Floral notes of acacia blossom and honeysuckle are complemented by subtle smoky and mineral nuances, hallmark characteristics of the great white wines of Graves.
From the very attack, the palate is seduced by its remarkable tension and perfectly balanced, generous texture. The fruit shines with clarity and precision, supported by a vibrant acidity that brings energy and length. Oak ageing, expertly integrated, adds delicate hints of vanilla, hazelnut, and soft spices without ever overshadowing the purity of the aromatic profile.
The finish is long and persistent, revealing a superb saline freshness alongside deep mineral complexity. The balance between richness, vivacity, and elegance gives this vintage outstanding ageing potential.
Both refined and vibrant, Château Malartic-Lagravière Blanc 2025 perfectly illustrates the expertise of this benchmark estate in Pessac-Léognan. A great Bordeaux white wine, equally suited to immediate enjoyment or long-term cellaring.
Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, south of Bordeaux, Château Malartic-Lagravière is among the most prestigious estates of the Graves region. Its history dates back to the 18th century, when the estate belonged to the de Malartic family, whose name it still carries today. It is one of the very few Bordeaux châteaux classified in the Graves classification for both its red and white wines, a distinction that reflects the excellence of its terroir and the consistency of its production.
The vineyard covers more than 70 hectares in a single block around the château, part of which is dedicated to white grape varieties. The vines are rooted in an exceptional terroir of Garonne gravel mixed with clay and limestone subsoils, providing outstanding natural drainage and ideal conditions for the expression of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.
Since its acquisition by the Bonnie family in 1997, the estate has benefited from significant investments aimed at modernising its facilities while preserving the historical identity of the property. A state-of-the-art winery and highly precise vinification equipment now make it possible to fully reveal the potential of each individual parcel.
The white plantings are mainly composed of Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Sémillon. The grapes undergo strict selection and are harvested at optimal ripeness in order to preserve both aromatic freshness and the textural richness that define the great white wines of Malartic-Lagravière.
Committed to an ambitious environmental approach, the estate prioritises sustainable viticulture that respects soils and biodiversity. This focus on ecological balance contributes to the purity and precision that distinguish the château’s wines.
Recognised as one of the benchmark estates of Pessac-Léognan, Château Malartic-Lagravière produces white wines of remarkable elegance, combining aromatic intensity, freshness, minerality, and excellent ageing potential. These cuvées are among the most sought-after in the appellation and perfectly embody the excellence of the great terroirs of Graves.
