Larrivet Haut-Brion 2022 – Pessac-Léognan
Produced in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2022 expresses with elegance the typical character of the great wines from Bordeaux’s Left Bank. The estate benefits from a terroir mainly composed of deep gravel soils over clay subsoils, offering the vines an ideal balance between drainage and water retention.
The 2022 vintage, marked by warm and dry conditions, allowed for excellent grape ripeness while preserving the freshness essential to the wine’s balance. The blend typically combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, resulting in a structured and harmonious wine.
Ageing in oak barrels brings a discreet woody touch that supports the expression of the fruit without overpowering it.
On the nose, the wine reveals aromas of ripe black fruits, blackcurrant, and black cherry, along with notes of spice, cocoa, and a subtle smoky character typical of the appellation. On the palate, the attack is broad and precise, with present but well-integrated tannins. The wine shows good depth, an elegant texture, and a persistent finish.
This Pessac-Léognan combines power and finesse, with interesting ageing potential while already being approachable after suitable aeration.
