The Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2019, 2020, and 2021 collection offers a rare opportunity to discover three successive expressions from one of Bordeaux’s most innovative and sought-after estates. Presented together, these vintages brilliantly illustrate the distinctive style of Les Carmes Haut-Brion, where elegance, precision, and freshness play a central role.
The 2019 vintage captivates with its depth, aromatic richness, and remarkable balance, revealing notes of ripe black fruit, spices, and graphite. The 2020 impresses with its concentration, controlled power, and great complexity, supported by a refined tannic structure. The 2021 highlights a more aerial and refined expression, marked by vibrant freshness, great finesse, and exemplary precision.
On the palate, these three vintages reveal the estate’s signature style: a silky texture, elegant tension, remarkably fine tannins, and aromatic depth that lingers long on the finish. Each wine expresses the nuances of its respective year while maintaining the unique identity of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion.
This 2019–2020–2021 vertical is an exceptional testimony to the estate’s craftsmanship and the richness of its terroir. A rare set for enthusiasts and collectors wishing to appreciate the evolution and diversity of one of the greatest wines of Pessac-Léognan.
Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, just a few kilometres from the centre of Bordeaux, Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion holds a unique position among Bordeaux’s great estates. Founded in the 16th century by the Carmelite Order, the estate takes its name from the monks who were the first to cultivate vines on these exceptional lands.
The vineyard benefits from a remarkable terroir composed of Günzian gravel over clay-limestone soils. This geological combination promotes the production of wines of great finesse, combining concentration, freshness, and aromatic complexity. A rare feature in the region is that the vineyard parcels are surrounded by a natural network of streams and waterways, contributing to a distinctive microclimate.
In recent years, under the leadership of the Pichet family and its technical team, Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion has established itself as one of Bordeaux’s most innovative estates. Close attention to each individual parcel, highly precise vinification, and the careful use of whole-bunch fermentation allow the full expression of the terroir and the creation of wines with a truly unique identity.
Today, the estate is recognised for its distinctive style, combining depth, energy, and elegance. Each vintage reflects the excellence of this exceptional terroir and confirms Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion’s status as one of the essential references of Pessac-Léognan.
