Château La Gaffelière 2025 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru : 97-99
The Château La Gaffelière 2025 is a red wine from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux. It is a Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) and one of the historic and prestigious estates of Saint-Émilion.
The vineyard covers around 20 hectares, located on some of the finest slopes of Saint-Émilion, with clay-limestone soils and areas of calcareous molasse typical of the plateau. This diversity of terroirs allows for an expression that is both elegant, precise, and deeply layered.
The 2025 vintage benefits from favourable conditions, with even ripening and excellent aromatic concentration. The blend is traditionally dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, which brings freshness, tension, and aromatic complexity.
The estate is known for its refined and balanced style, combining richness of texture with great tannic finesse. Viticulture is carried out with precision, through rigorous parcel selection and carefully controlled harvests.
Winemaking is adapted to each parcel, with gentle extraction to preserve the elegance of the fruit. Ageing in French oak barrels adds structure, depth, and complexity without overpowering the wine.
On the nose, the wine reveals aromas of red and black fruits, cherry, plum, and floral notes, accompanied by subtle sweet spices and delicate oak influence. On the palate, the attack is silky, the structure harmonious, with fine tannins and a long, elegant finish.
This is a refined Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, combining precision, balance, and excellent ageing potential.
