Pessac-Léognan
Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2025 elegantly and precisely expresses the character of the great red wines of the Graves region. This vintage stands out for its balance, freshness, and depth, offering a harmonious expression of a terroir renowned for producing wines that are both refined and age-worthy.
The blend, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and complemented by Merlot, with a touch of Cabernet Franc depending on the parcels, reveals a complex and expressive bouquet. Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and black cherry intertwine with notes of cedar, blond tobacco, sweet spices, and a subtle smoky character, hallmarks of the great wines of Pessac-Léognan.
On the palate, the wine displays impressive density supported by a fine and perfectly integrated tannic structure. The attack is broad and precise, leading to an elegant texture where the fruit is expressed with remarkable purity. The natural freshness of the terroir brings tension and balance, supporting a long and graceful evolution across the palate.
Carefully managed ageing in French oak barrels enriches the wine with delicate nuances without overshadowing either the fruit or the personality of the terroir. It contributes additional complexity and finesse to the overall profile.
The finish is long, persistent, and harmonious, marked by notes of dark fruits, spices, and an elegant mineral touch.
Both structured and refined, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2025 confirms the quality and consistency of this leading Pessac-Léognan estate, offering excellent ageing potential.
Located in Léognan, at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is one of the emblematic estates of the Graves region. Its history dates back to the 19th century, and the property has undergone a remarkable revival since its acquisition by the Gervoson family in the late 1980s. Significant investments were made to modernize the facilities and unlock the full potential of the vineyard.
The estate covers nearly 75 hectares of vineyards, planted with both red and white grape varieties. The vines grow on deep gravel soils combined with clay and sandy subsoils, a characteristic terroir of Pessac-Léognan that promotes both optimal ripeness and the preservation of freshness in the grapes.
The red vineyard is primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc. For the white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon play a major role, enabling the estate to produce whites renowned for their elegance and aromatic intensity.
Vineyard management is based on a rigorous and environmentally conscious approach, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil quality. Grapes are harvested parcel by parcel to ensure that each variety is picked at its optimal level of ripeness.
Vinification benefits from modern facilities that allow for precise grape selection and tailored winemaking for each individual parcel. Ageing in French oak barrels is carefully managed to preserve the balance between fruit, structure, and terroir expression.
Today, Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is regarded as one of the benchmark estates of Pessac-Léognan, producing elegant and complex red and white wines that faithfully reflect the identity of the great terroirs of Graves.
