The Estate – ÁLVARO PALACIOS

Álvaro Palacios is one of the most influential figures in contemporary Spanish wine. After playing a key role in the revival of Priorat in the late 1980s, he established himself as one of Spain’s most prestigious producers through an approach focused on terroir expression and the pursuit of elegance.

The estate is located in the heart of Priorat, in Catalonia, a spectacular wine region defined by its steep slopes and llicorella soils, a black slate that gives the wines their depth, mineral freshness, and remarkable complexity.

The vineyards are mainly planted with Grenache (Garnacha) and Carignan (Cariñena), often from old vines grown on terraced plots. Vineyard work prioritises low yields and environmentally respectful practices in order to preserve the identity of each parcel.

Winemaking is carried out with precision to highlight the purity of the fruit and the expression of terroir. Ageing is carefully managed to preserve the wines’ natural balance and aromatic finesse.
