# OLIVIER – PESSAC-LÉOGNAN 2019

De jaargang 2019 van Olivier, afkomstig uit de appellatie Pessac-Léognan, overtuigt door zijn mooie balans tussen elegantie, frisheid en diepgang. Deze wijn drukt op verfijnde wijze het karakter van zijn Bordeaux-terroir uit en combineert een rijke aromatische expressie met een precieze en harmonieuze structuur.

In de neus komen aroma’s van rijp rood en zwart fruit naar voren, aangevuld met verfijnde kruidige, florale en licht houtachtige toetsen. In de mond is de wijn vol en zijdezacht, gedragen door fijne, mooi geïntegreerde tannines. De frisse toets geeft het geheel extra levendigheid en zorgt voor een elegante, aanhoudende afdronk.

Een verfijnde en evenwichtige Pessac-Léognan die de typische diepgang van grote Bordeauxwijnen combineert met een elegante en toegankelijke expressie. Een jaargang 2019 die nu al veel drinkplezier biedt, maar tegelijkertijd over een mooi bewaarpotentieel beschikt.

# CHÂTEAU OLIVIER

At the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, Château Olivier is a historic Bordeaux estate whose origins date back to the Middle Ages. Surrounded by forests, meadows and vineyards, the estate covers a vast 230-hectare property, including 60 hectares of vineyards. The de Bethmann family has owned the estate since the 19th century.

Classified as a Cru Classé de Graves since 1953 for both its red and white wines, Château Olivier benefits from an exceptional terroir composed mainly of gravel soils resting on a clay-limestone bedrock. This diversity of soils, combined with an outstanding natural environment, enables the estate to produce wines that are deep, precise and elegant, with remarkable ageing potential.

The red vineyard is mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Château Olivier places particular emphasis on expressing the character of its terroir, from hand-harvesting and parcel-by-parcel vinification through to ageing in oak barrels. This pursuit of precision gives rise to complex and refined wines, where the richness of the fruit is balanced by freshness, fine tannins and an elegant, lingering finish.
