Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé
Originating from the renowned terroirs of Saint-Émilion, Château Dassault 2025 elegantly reflects the continued rise in quality of this historic estate. This vintage captivates with its deep colour highlighted by violet hues, an expressive bouquet of ripe red fruits, and a silky palate supported by perfectly integrated tannins and remarkable freshness. The balance between aromatic richness, precision, and finesse gives this wine a harmonious and appealing character from an early age.
The blend of 78% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon fully expresses the diversity of the estate’s clay-limestone soils. The low yields of the vintage have ensured optimal grape concentration while preserving the freshness and elegance that are hallmarks of the great wines of Saint-Émilion.
On the palate, notes of cherry, plum, liquorice, and crunchy red berries unfold beautifully, supported by vibrant tension and a long, savoury finish with subtle hints of menthol. Accessible relatively young thanks to its refined texture, Château Dassault 2025 also possesses the structure and balance required to evolve gracefully in the cellar for two decades or more.
Located on the northern slopes of the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation, Château Dassault is an iconic estate whose history began in 1955 when Marcel Dassault acquired Château Couperie and renamed it after himself. Thanks to significant investments in both the vineyard and winemaking facilities, the estate achieved the status of Grand Cru Classé in 1969.
Today, the property extends across nearly 40 hectares of contiguous vineyards, further expanded through the integration of the Faurie de Souchard vineyard in 2022. The vines are planted on a mosaic of clay-limestone, sandy-clay, and clay-sandy soils, characteristic of some of the finest terroirs in Saint-Émilion. This geological diversity gives the château’s wines remarkable complexity, combining power, freshness, and elegance.
The vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot (66%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (26%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (8%). Committed to environmental stewardship, the estate practices sustainable viticulture inspired by agroecological principles and holds certifications including HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) and Bee Friendly.
At the heart of the estate stands an elegant Second Empire-style residence surrounded by a five-hectare classified park, a true haven for biodiversity. In 2022, Château Dassault inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3,500 m² winery, designed for highly precise parcel-by-parcel vinification and tailored ageing adapted to each individual terroir.
Remaining faithful to the pursuit of excellence instilled by the Dassault family for more than seventy years, Château Dassault crafts refined wines renowned for their aromatic richness, silky tannins, and outstanding ageing potential, embodying the unique character and prestige of the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion.
